How you can help:
Salisbury Farms offers equine programming for youth of all backgrounds in San Diego. This is a unique program targeting children who often do get the opportunity to participate in this type of exciting outdoor program. When you support Salisbury Farms you are assisting in providing positive opportunities to at-risk youth in and around San Diego County. You can help our youth by volunteering your time, donating a horse, equipment, or by making a financial contribution. Volunteering:
Volunteers will be supervised and trained in basic horse care including: feeding, watering, leading, grooming, mounting and dismounting.   Volunteers may assist in preparing horses for mounted work, assisting riders in mounting, dismounting, and riding, volunteers may also participate by leading horses, side-walking, or assisting in the maintenance of the program facility, horses, and equipment.

Scholarships:
Salisbury Farms would like to offer services to at-risk youth in San Diego County.  Salisbury Farms has collaborated with many agencies in San Diego to work together to fund and coordinate these services.  However, the fees for horse work at times preclude some individuals and some agencies from participating.  Consequently, Salisbury Farms has started a scholarship fund to provide partial or full funding for interested at-risk youth.  Full scholarships cover the entire cost of participation, and partial scholarship cover half of the cost of participation, allowing the family or agency to cover the rest of the fee.

Sponsor a horse:
Our horses are the heart and soul of our program. Each one is specifically chosen for his/her temperament, training, soundness, and personality. These horses give hours of love, learning, attention, and fun to the youth they work with. However, these horses require extensive care and cost $5000 a year to maintain. If you would like to sponsor one of these horses, a sponsorship of $300 a month would be a wonderful contribution to the maintenance of one of our equine partners.
